I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and completed my MBA at Warwick in 2000.
I have more than 30 years’ HR experience, 20 of these in local government. I was previously Head of HR for Solihull LEA for 4 years. As well as advising Solihull Schools on all HR matters, I also undertook Governor training on headship recruitment and employment law.
After leaving local government I worked for a start up company and developed a Headteacher recruitment service. The development of this service was the subject of my MBA dissertation.
I have undertaken consultancy work on behalf of schools, local authorities, the independent schools’ sector and small businesses for the last 11 years.
I have worked with the National Governors’ Association and The National College for School Leadership on the development of succession planning strategies for schools.
I provide specialist consultancy to one of the UK’s premier staffing organisations, supporting its Education and Care businesses.
I am also a governor of a successful secondary school that has just converted to Academy status.
